When Julirose Hotels & Suites approached us, they had a problem that is common across Nigeria's hospitality industry: a beautiful 180-room luxury property in Port Harcourt with absolutely no digital presence. Guests could not browse rooms, check availability, or book online. The hotel team was managing reservations in spreadsheets and coordinating events over the phone.
For a property of this scale, with deluxe rooms, executive suites, a full restaurant and bar, event venues, and premium guest services, the gap between the in-person experience and the digital one was costing them bookings every single day.
The Challenge
The scope went far beyond building a website. Julirose needed a system that could handle the full breadth of their operations digitally. Guests needed to search availability, browse room galleries, enter their details, confirm selections, process payments, and receive instant booking confirmations, all without picking up the phone. But the hotel staff needed something equally powerful on their end: a way to manage rooms, track bookings, update menus, handle guest inquiries, and see revenue trends at a glance.
Two separate user groups, two different sets of needs, one unified platform.
What We Built
The Guest-Facing Website
We designed a polished booking experience that walks guests through six clear steps: search availability, browse room galleries, enter details, confirm selections, process payment, and receive confirmation. Each of the four room categories has its own page with professional imagery, amenity breakdowns, and nightly rates.
The site also features a dedicated restaurant section with full dining and bar menus, an event hosting showcase for weddings and conferences, a curated photo gallery, and a blog for hotel news and Port Harcourt travel tips.
The Admin Dashboard
This is where the real operational power lives. We built an 11-section dashboard that gives the hotel team complete control over their property:
- Bookings management with real-time status tracking and occupancy overview
- Room management across all types, categories, and availability statuses
- Guest directory with stay history, spending records, and contact details
- Restaurant menu editor with categories, pricing, and item descriptions
- Gallery management with drag-and-drop image uploads
- Blog publishing with scheduling and category support
- Event booking calendar with venue assignment and date management
- Special packages and promotional offers with date ranges
- Guest inquiry management with priority-based tracking and direct replies
- Revenue analytics with interactive charts for occupancy, bookings, and income
- Settings panel for hotel information, room pricing, and notification preferences
The Technical Approach
Both applications were built on Next.js with TypeScript and Tailwind CSS. The guest site uses server-side rendering for fast page loads and strong SEO, which is critical for a hotel that needs to show up when travelers search for accommodation in Port Harcourt.
The admin dashboard uses real-time data fetching so the team always sees current occupancy, the latest bookings, and up-to-date revenue figures. Every section is designed so the hotel team can manage their own content, pricing, events, and inquiries without ever needing a developer.
The Results
- Two complete applications delivered: a guest-facing website and a full admin dashboard
- Six-step booking system that takes guests from search to confirmed reservation in minutes
- 11-section admin dashboard covering bookings, rooms, guests, menu, gallery, blog, events, packages, inquiries, and settings
- Real-time occupancy tracking, revenue charts, and guest history replacing manual spreadsheets entirely
- Hotel team manages their own content, pricing, events, and inquiries without developer support
Why This Matters
Hotels in Nigeria are competing not just with each other, but with international booking platforms that set the standard for digital guest experiences. A property like Julirose, with 180 rooms and premium services, cannot afford to operate on spreadsheets and phone calls. The digital command center we built gives them the tools to run their operations with the same level of professionalism their guests experience in person.
If your hospitality business is ready to move beyond manual operations, let us talk about what a custom platform could do for your property.
